Description:
The Health Education Unit of McKinley Health Center provides a wide variety of wellness promotion, and health education programs and services to students at Illinois. A team of health educators within the Unit work together to promote a campus environment that enhances the quality of life for student’s at Illinois.
The Sexual Health Graduate Assistant will assist the Sexual Health Educator in a variety of areas concerning sexual health services and programs. Individuals most suitable for this position must be willing to present sexual health workshops; assist with program planning, implementation, and evaluation; and have an interest in the field of health promotion as it relates to sexual health.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Knowledge of sexuality and sexual health through a social justice lens
- Address sexual health needs of a college student population
- Ability to work as a team as well as independently
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and facilitation skills
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate health education strategies
- Willingness to work flexible hours at times (daytime, evenings, and weekends may be required)
Qualifications:
Graduate students enrolled in the Department of Community Health, Counseling/Clinical Psychology, Kinesiology, College of Education, School of Social Work, etc.
The position provides a stipend. The tuition and fee waiver is dependent upon departmental approval.
