Description:
We are looking for a pre-professional graduate assistant for the Nutrition Education Coordinator at the McKinley Health Center Health Education Unit. This position is a 25% appointment.
Individuals most suited for this position must:
- Be willing to present wellness related workshops
- Assist with program planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Have an interest in the field of health promotion as it relates to nutrition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Commitment to diversity. You will be working with a broad range of students with a variety of needs.
- An understanding of nutrition related issues college students are often faced with, and making challenging decisions on.
- Knowledge of nutrition issues is desirable.
- Ability to work as a team as well as independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective organizational, planning, and conceptualization skills.
- Awareness of and willingness to at times work irregular hours.
- Willingness to learn and teach.
- Experience in health education, counseling, and/or related fields.
Qualifications:
We are specifically looking for students who have a background in Nutritional Sciences/Dietetics/FSHN.
Graduate students enrolled in the Department of Community Health, Counseling/Clinical Psychology, Kinesiology, EPS, College of Education, Life Sciences and School of Social Work may be eligible for tuition and fee waivers plus a stipend.
