The Illinois Hub for Innovation in Brand Communication and Advertising Technology (HIBCAT) is seeking a qualified graduate research assistant (GRA) with experience in working with large consumer and media data sets and predictive modeling and time-series forecasting.
HIBCAT
The Hub for Innovation in Brand Communication and Advertising Technology (HIBCAT) is a partnership between the College of Media, Siebel Center for Design, and Technology Services. The Hub will establish a center of excellence in data driven strategic brand communication and advertising technology. The new Hub will integrate resources for faculty research, student learning, and community engagement. As a collaborative research platform, the center will develop a model for experiential and team-based learning centered around design thinking and innovation.
Responsibilities
· Analyze and develop predictive models with large media and consumer data sets for digital marketing and brand management.
· Participate and support academic research and publication activities at the HIBCAT
· Working closely with the data engineers and system developers in application development
Qualifications
· Students seeking advanced degrees in Communication science, Statistics, Business and financial analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
· Applied knowledge in:
- · Time-series forecasting, signal detection, and Markov analysis,
- · Big data analytics and Machine learning
· Proficiency in R, Python (Scikit-learn, Pandas, Numpy)
· Working knowledge of textual data analytics, natural language processing, and topic modeling, are a plus
We are targeting a full-time graduate student at UIUC who is willing to work as a graduate research assistant. We pay about $1,200- $1,400/month for a 50% RA (20 hours per week).
