The Graduate College is pleased to welcome Professor Isabel Molina-Guzmán as Associate Dean of the Graduate College effective June 16, 2016. Dean Molina-Guzman’s primary responsibilities will be in the area of doctoral program assessment. Her appointment in the Grad College will be .50 FTE. She will continue to serve as a faculty member in Latina/Latino Studies and Media and Cinema Studies. She has served on the Graduate College Executive Committee and has an in-depth understanding of graduate issues on our campus.
Molina-Guzmán’s work critically analyzes the representations of marginalized groups in both traditional and digital media forms. With a focus on US Latinas/Latinos, she maps out how ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality and citizenship work together – shaping media discourses and framing public perceptions, political attitudes and policy-making.
