Description of Research

The numerical simulation of physical systems has become the discovery tool of the 21st century. Millions of dollars are spent every year by the US government as well as private industries in support of the infrastructure that enables scientific computing. Efficient use of this infrastructure is critical as scientific simulations can take anywhere from seconds to months of computing time. My research aims to reduce the runtime of simulation codes by designing and implementing highly scalable solvers. These tools can be applied to problems in many different scientific fields that would benefit from the reduced computing time.
