Description of Research
Some of the most important outstanding questions in physics involve understanding the way electrons move in various materials. Uncovering answers has historically been the role of researchers in condensed matter physics. However, advancements in atomic and molecular physics has provided a new avenue for researchers to explore under the subfield of “quantum simulation.” My research specifically uses ultracold polar molecules as a platform on which to do quantum simulation. In particular we are studying lattice transport behavior under the condition that particles in the lattice “speak” to one another through the so called “dipole-dipole” interaction.
