Description of Research
The Standard Model (SM) of particle physics is one of the greatest achievements in science. It describes everything in the Universe in terms of 17 elementary particles and their interactions. However, the SM is not complete. There are mysteries it cannot explain, such as the existence of dark matter, the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe, and others. We thus look for more fundamental theories that can describe these phenomena. My work focuses on probing some of these theories experimentally via searches of Lorentz-symmetry violation, and neutrinoless double beta decay with the EXO-200 experiment.
