Proteomics and peptidomics are rapidly advancing fields in analytical chemistry and the development of techniques to accurately identify and quantify the vast number of proteins and peptides present in a sample is critical in order to gain a better understanding of how different diseases arise. My research is focused primarily on using mass spectrometry to accurately assess the protein and peptide content in different animal tissues in order to have a better insight into the biochemical mechanisms behind different diseases.
