Strategic Plan

"We need to reinvent or redefine what a public land-grant university—an invention of the 19th century—is and should do for the citizens of a 21st century world." — Robert J. Jones, Chancellor

Our 2017 strategic plan, "A Tradition and Future of Excellence" set out eight Action Areas:

  • Metrics & Dashboards - compile and present data related to graduate education
  • Innovative Academic Programs - assistant academic units in developing and revising degree programs
  • Diversity - broaden participating in graduate education
  • Student Experience - enrich student experience and promote student wellness
  • Student Success - prepare student to thrive in and beyond graduate school
  • Coordination with Camupus Units - support efficient administration of graduate programs
  • Staff Development - promote professional growth and expertise in graduate education
  • Visibility - improve the visibility of the Graduate College and our graduate students

Following the vision and priorities laid out in The Next 150, the Graduate College will develop a new five-year strategic plan in Fall 2022.
